Sustainable, Healthy Buildings in Action: New Solar Power & IAQ Monitoring Tech at the Edmonton Convention Centre

Please Join Us!

If you’re a mechanical contractor or engineer interested in sustainable practices, please join us on March 1st at the Edmonton Convention Centre (ECC) for a presentation and tour. You will learn how the ECC is continuing to elevate its sustainability practices with our IAQ monitoring technology and a new, world-class solar panel installation.

Background:

As one of Western Canada’s premiere event and convention facilities, the Edmonton Convention Centre is in the business of attracting large groups to host their events. Their customers increasingly seek out facilities that are serious about sustainability, health, and wellness and evaluate their sustainable practices – especially since COVID-19 – on characteristics like cleanliness and indoor air quality.

For this reason, the ECC made significant investments and changes to its facilities, equipment, and practices to reduce its environmental footprint and ensure the health and safety of guests and staff.

On March 1, 2023, join MCA Alberta, BGE and other guests at the Edmonton Convention Centre for a presentation highlighting the innovations of their initiatives & programs. The presentations will be followed by a facility tour of their world-class solar panel installation and indoor air quality monitoring technology – a must-see for mechanical contractors and engineers!

The Edmonton Convention Centre (ECC) is Canada’s largest building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) system, producing approximately 200 megawatt hours of electricity each year, resulting in a reduction of nearly 150,000 kg of greenhouse gas emissions. On the health & safety side, the ECC has installed state-of-the-art indoor air quality monitors across the facility, as they embark on a continuous indoor air quality monitoring and improvement program.
