AAF VariCel® Box Filter
The VariCel filter is a high-capacity, extended surface air filter engineered for demanding HVAC applications. Designed to perform in challenging environments, it withstands turbulent airflow, high temperatures, and exposure to moisture. Its durable, dual-density media improves efficiency and reduces operating costs while maintaining structural integrity. Available in MERV 11, 13, and 14 efficiencies, with antimicrobial options on select models, the VariCel filter meets LEED® certification requirements and is UL Classified for safety and reliability.
Efficiency
VariCel filters are available in MERV 14, MERV 13, and MERV 11 efficiencies. Antimicrobials are available on MERV 14, and MERV 11 efficiencies.

VariCel filters are designed to withstand even the toughest working conditions such as turbulent air flow, variable air flow, high temperatures and exposure to water.

The VariCel is available in a 12” depth.

The initial resistance of VariCel at 500fpm:
0.34 in.w.g. for MERV 11
0.52 in.w.g. for MERV 13
0.61 in.w.g. for MERV 14
Final Resistance
The recommended final resistance of the VariCel is 1.5 in.w.g.
