PARTNERSHIP & AFFILIATIONS

Fort McKay First Nation

BGE has partnered with Fort McKay First Nation with the mutual goal of diversifying and expanding into communities to help build a healthy and sustainable future. On March 2021, a formal agreement between the two parties was signed whereby Fort McKay First Nation became an investment and minority equity partner with BGE indoor Air Quality Solutions. 

By working with industry partners and acquiring new companies, Fort McKay is fulfilling on their vision of diversification outside of the Oil and Gas sector to provide long-term stability for their community.  The strategic partnership aligns with BGE’s vision to provide products and services to organizations who care about clean air, enabling BGE to continue to build strong community ties to education and IAQ advisory throughout Alberta.

First People’s House Endowment  The Sutton family, who are the founders and 1st generation of BGE Indoor Air Quality Solutions, have made a commitment to Canada’s reconciliation efforts with Indigenous People’s.  Dorothy Sutton’s desire is to create a more inclusive environment for First Nation, Metis, and Indigenous (FMNI) students, and for this reason, has provided a donation and endowment to First People’s House at the University of Alberta.  Beginning in 2020, Dorothy donated $200,000 to First People’s House to support FNMI students with housing, living, tutoring, and cultural experience expenses so that they can be successful in their schooling without the extraordinary financial pressures when they have to live away from their family support circles. An additional commitment of $300,000 (200,000 donation and 100,000 endowment) will donated to First People’s House with a portion put into an endowment fund for future programs.

The National Filtration Association (NAFA)

NAFA is the voice of air filtration in North America. It is comprised of air filter and component manufacturers, sales and service companies, and HVAC and indoor air quality professionals across the United States and several foreign countries. NAFA includes individuals and companies engaged in the sale, service and manufacture of air filtration products. BGE currently volunteers on the Executive Board, Board of Directors and Guidelines Committee to help further develop NAFA’s vision and mission.

ASHRAE

Founded in 1894, ASHRAE is an international organization with the mission of advancing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) to serve humanity, and promoting a sustainable world through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education. ASHRAE’s published guidelines are the industry standard for HVAC system design and operation.

Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Canada

BOMA is the voice of the Canadian commercial real estate industry, with over 2,500 members in regional associations across Canada. On behalf of the building owners, managers, developers, facilities managers, asset managers, leasing agents, brokers, and the product and service providers to over 1.9 Billion square feet of commercial real estate in Canada, BOMA Canada addresses issues of national concern, and promotes excellence in the industry through information, education advocacy and recognition.

Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society (CHES)

CHES exists to help its members manage the indoor environment which is essential for efficient and effective health care delivery. If you are involved in the operation and maintenance of a healthcare facility, you can gain concrete benefits from membership in CHES. Whether you are the maintenance superintendent of a small nursing home or an engineer responsible for engineering services at a large hospital, a CHES membership will enhance your ability to perform your work effectively and efficiently.

The Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA)

ACSA and The Alberta Human Resources and Employment, Workplace Health and Safety are committed to helping employers and workers reduce losses caused by workplace injuries through the “Certificate of Recognition” (COR) program for the Alberta construction industry. BGE is proud to be an active participant in the COR program.

The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA)

Formed in 1989, NADCA is a non-profit association of companies engaged in the cleaning of HVAC systems. NADCA’s mission is to include the representation of qualified companies engaged in the assessment, cleaning, and restoration of HVAC systems, and to assist its members in providing high-quality service to their customers. The goal of the association is to be the number one source for HVAC cleaning and restoration services.  BGE’s duct cleaning service leads possess their ASCS (Air Systems Cleaning Specialists) accreditation.
