Health and Safety Policy

“Commitment to Zero Disabling Injuries”

BGE’s purpose is dedicated to safely delivering clean, healthy indoor air environments. For over 50 years BGE has set out to accomplish this very task. Our job is to ensure that our customers and their environments are protected from the unseen world of fine particulates and contaminants. To be successful we must approach this work in a manner to ensure that our people and our customers are healthy and safe.

We are personally committed to the health and safety of our people. It’s important that BGE protects and maintains the physical, psychological, and social well-being of our people. Everyone needs to feel safe and have the right training and tools to work safely every day. I take full responsibility for our safety program and that our employees return home safely at the end of each day ready to contribute to their families and their communities. Our belief is that 100% of accidents and injuries can be prevented. The “drive to zero” starts with me and permeates through our leaders and our people all the way to our customers, the community, and the environment.

Our BGE team of people at every level, including leadership, are responsible and accountable for BGE’s overall safety initiatives. Our Senior Leadership Team supports the coordination and cooperation of all employees concerning safety on all our job sites. We invest in the proper equipment, training, policies, and processes to ensure work is done safely everywhere. Our Health & Safety committee reviews policies, processes, and incidents monthly to ensure that measures are put in place to prevent accidents from happening. Every leader who is supervising the work of our people must ensure that they create a safe environment for their team where safe work practices and safe job procedures are followed and reviewed and where feedback, questions, and improvement are part of our everyday routines. Supervisors are also responsible for responding and reporting any incidents to our Health, Safety, and Environment Manager. Each employee is responsible for being a leader when it comes to safety by identifying risks, controlling hazards, and reporting any incidents or accidents immediately. Our people know that the only way to do a job is safely.

BGE is proud to maintain its independently audited COR Health and Safety program.

BGE requires 100% participation in our safety.

Stay in the moment and report all incidents and accidents.
